Fun fact
Baby swans, cygnets, are also referred to as ‘ugly ducklings’. When swans are born, they have grey fuzzy feathers which turn brown within their first 6 months. Their feathers only become white when they mature, turning into the beautiful swans we know of. It’s this that gives them the name ‘the Ugly Duckling’.
